Oftentimes, long tracks and low numbers of passengers suggest reducing course frequencies or eliminating lines. Bus stops with small numbers of passenger interchanges are often removed.

The BEHA System works against these negative tendencies by effectively using all ways to rationalize these processes, and still maintaining or even increasing the quality of public transport. With the help of BEHA Technology, certain sections of the track, wich oftentimes constitute unnecessary detours, can be served according to demand:

Aims

The aim is the maintenance of such isolated bus stops, while keeping in mind the cost-effective handling of bus transport. Further, the establishment of on-demand stops, so called "BEHA-Points" with an uncomplicated mode of registration for the passenger and an uncomplicated mode of communication for the bus driver.

Tasks

Comparable with a pedestrian light, which can be activated at the push of a button to allow the passers-by to cross the street safely, our task was to find a similar solution for a passenger - to allow him to "order" a bus "at the push of a button". Additionally, our task was to make it possible to order a bus irrespective of time and location. The aim was that, for example, while sitting in his living room, the passenger could order a bus in the evening for the next morning.
